Aloe Blacc (Orange County, California, January 7, 1979) is an American soul singerand rapper . He made his debut in 2002 together with producer Exile as the duoEmanon with the ep Anon and On. His first solo album, Shine Through, appeared in 2006. On his solo record is mainly Sung, while on his work with Exile mainly isperformed. Have so far best known song is "I Need a Dollar", that if intro song used in the comedy series How to Make it in America. The second song released from the album that Good Things he was titled "Loving You Is Killing Me".
His music contains elements from jazz, soul, R & B and hip hop.
After the appearance of his debut album, he performed in the television programs Later ... with Jools Holland and The Graham Norton Show .

Blacc began his music career as a rapper. Together with producer Exile he formed the hip hop group Emanon and released 6 albums. In the late 1990s was Blacc a "stowaway" during the European tour of the American hip hop group Loot pack. Following the albums by Emanon Blacc came in contact with the French Jazz Liberatorz jazz group. In 2003 Blacc signed to Stones Throw Records and he started a solo career after he had released his solo album in the late 1990s. Also In 2003, he released his debut EP. His debut album Shine Through was released on July 11, 2006. This was followed by a European tour with Emanon, while he worked on his second solo album, Good Things. In 2009 worked together with the Japanese hip-hop producer Aloe Blacc Cradle. Together they formed the duo Bee and they released the albumOpen Your Mind off at GoonTrax Records.
Mainstream success and Good Things (2010-present)[Edit][]
Good Things was originally released by Stones Throw Records. This album was produced by Jeff Dynamite and Leon Michels for TRUTH & SOUL Productions. In 2010 signed a contract with Epic Records Blacc for the United Kingdom and Ireland. His album and the single "I Need a Dollar" were released later in 2010.
Blacc covered the song "Ordinary People" by John Legend and made a Spanish version of it, entitled "Gente Ordinaria".
The single "I Need a Dollar" was used in the American television series How to Make it in America. In addition, the song was used in the EA Sportsgame Fight Night Champion. The song garnered success throughout Europe.
On March 7, 2011, the second single ("Loving You Is Killing Me") from the album released. The planning was that he also the ninth album in 2011 with Emanon would release, entitled bird's Eye View.
On 17 June 2013 came the single "Wake me up" from the Swedish dj Avicii, which provides the vocals Blacc. On 19 October 2013 also an acoustic version of this appeared.
