Anyone Who Had a Heart "is a song that the writing duo Burt Bacharach (music) and Hal David (lyrics) in 1963 wrote for Dionne Warwick. It first appeared as single and was later on the album of the same name by Warwick.
With Anyone Who Had a Heart Warwick earned her first top-10 hit in the Billboard Hot 100. The song was sixth on the Billboard R & B Chart and second on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart. In the United Kingdom obtained a number place 42 in the charts.
The text is about the pain that a singer feels when she is in love with remains on the person about whom she sings while they constantly feel pain through the one on whom she is in love with.
Warwicks original[Edit][]
Anyone Who Had a Heart was at Warwick in an unfinished form submitted. Bacharach had the score for the music ready, but David completed just one third part of the text. In addition, David was not satisfied with a certain phrase, where he could find no solution for.
Bacharach played a piece of music for Warwick, after which they completely enamored of the music. She begged David to complete the text. In the days after David completed the text on Bacharach's bedroom in his apartment in Manhattan. Bacharach and Warwick already rehearsed the song and helped with the text.
Anyone Who Had a Heart was at one time included in the Bell Sound Studios in Manhattan in november 1963, a few days after the assassination ofJohn f. Kennedy. Later it was another recorded for a compilation album.
