Song Notes: This week, it's a bit of a theme—a couple of Local Seattle-area bands! It's to celebrate the inauguration of the new Steve.FM blog, which I'm the editor for and also, y'know, a contributor. There's not a whole lot there yet, but there will be soon—it'll have an emphasis on local Seattle music, but there'll be other stuff, too. So, check it out! Anyway, about this song—this one is a great one from the Young Fresh Fellows, and it's basically a celebration of everything about Seattle. Though, it's a bit old, and some of the stuff isn't actually there anymore—for example, the Kingdome's gone (which always struck me as incredibly stupid, since it was a huge landmark and one of the big Seattle Things. Now we've just got a Generic Stadium. It seems like it would have been better to just renovate/remodel the interior of the Kingdome, but oh well.), and there's rumors about the monorail going away with the recent accident (a couple trains got stuck around the curve). This is from The Men Who Loved Music, which is one of my favorite Fellows albums, and a great place to start. (Or, if you want to be exact, it's from the Refreshments EP, but that's on the CD of that album, so, whatever.) - Rev. Syung Myung Me
