Artist: The Who

Genre: Rock

Appears On: Ready, Steady, Who; A Quick One (bonus track on CD issue)

Appears On (Mixes): Past The Barber and Gymnasium

Song Notes: Keith Moon was a huge Jan & Dean fan, and that lead The Who to record this for the Ready Steady Who teaser EP for A Quick One (a/k/a Happy Jack in the US). It later showed up on the compilation LP Magic Bus, and is currently available on the expanded CD of A Quick One (though oddly, that only features an alternate, acoustic version of "Happy Jack" -- the real one is only on Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy, I think.). It's a pretty cool, pretty fun song. I like it a lot. Also, for those who don't know, a Bucket T is a 1960s hot-rod car, based on the original Model T, although they were typically two-seaters, not one, as mentioned in the song. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
