Cage The Elephant is an American Rock band formed in 2006 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. There debut album Cage The Elephant was released in 2008 in the UK and in 2009 in other places. It meet commercial success due to the single "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked". In 2011, they released there second album Thank You, Happy Birthday. Much like there previous effort, the album meet success due to the single "Shake Me Down". As of now, they band released two studio albums, one live album, and about 8 singles.

After a gig in 2007 at the South by Southwest music festival drew Cage the Elephant at Relentless Records and then moved to London. [3the same year the band performed for the first time at Lollapalooza on.[4the debut album Cage the Elephant came on 23 June 2008 in the United Kingdom and on april 21, 2009 in the rest of the world. This album was a considerable success in both the United States and Europe. [5the single "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" came to the 32nd place of the UK Singles Chart and was used for the video game Borderlands and the movie The Bounty Hunter. The band played in the Act for, inter alia, The Pigeon Detectives and Stone Temple Pilots.

The second album, Thank You, Happy Birthday, was released on January 11, 2011 and received favorable reviews. On the first day it became the most downloaded album on iTunes and in the first week there were sold 39,000 copies in the u.s., with which the plate came in second place in the Billboard 200. [6]

Cage the Elephant played in 2011 including Coachella and Glastonbury Festival and toured extensively in Europe.
