Genre Description[]

Dancehall is an offshoot of Reggae, which is typically faster and often uses a drum machine instead of live drums. It's a bit of a cross between reggae and rap, with a DJ rapping over danceable music. In the earlier days, dancehall lyrics were often crude, although recently there has been a controversy over the great homophobia of some new Dancehall artists like the popular Beenie Man.
