Chris Martin is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist who was one of the founding members of Coldplay. Chris is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and pianist for the band. Chris is married to Gwyneth Paltrow.

Early Life[edit | edit source]
Chris Martin was born on the 2nd of March, 1977, in Whitestone, Exeter, Devon, England. Chris was the eldest of five siblings. His father was an accountant and his mother a music teacher. Thus, being born into a musical family, Chris picked up the piano and guitar during his school years.
During his time at college, he met Jonny Buckland, the guitarist of Coldplay. They then formed a band. Soon to require Guy Berryman, their new bass player. Following Guy, came Will Champion, who was a multi-instrumentalist. In a need for a drummer, Will quickly adapted and picked up the drums.
