Biography[edit | edit source]
Cooking Vinyl was originally founded in 1986 as a folk label, but quickly branched out to normal rock and pop as well, and even into electronica and alt. country as well. They've ended up being a bit of a clearing house for talented artists who might not be able to find a home on more mainstream labels -- particularly those that once distributed their albums. They've been around for 20 years and are still going strong, even opening up a US arm of the label as well as the standard UK original, though still, many Cooking Vinyl UK albums are put out on different labels on this side of the pond.
