Giancarlo Pasquini, better known by his stage name Dave Rodgers, is an Italian singer, songwriter and music producer. He is considered one of the pioneers of the Eurobeat genre and is widely recognized for his contributions to the Initial D anime soundtrack, where many of his songs such as "Deja Vu", "Space Boy", and "Beat of the Rising Sun" gained popular status.
Biography[]
Dave Rodgers began his musical career in the early 1980s performing in the Italo disco scene under the alias Aleph. He co-founded A-Beat C Records in 1990 alongside Alberto Contini, establishing it as one of the most influential Eurobeat labels, especially in Japan. Rodgers gained major popularity through his work on the Super Eurobeat series and became a recurring contributor to the Initial D anime series.
He has collaborated with many Eurobeat artists, including Domino, Futura, Karen, Meri, Nuage and Sabrina Wender, and founded his own label, Sun Fire Records, after the closure of A-Beat C. In recent years, Dave Rodgers has continued producing music, working on new tracks and remakes of classics.
