David Grisman (born March 23, 1945), also known by his nickname "Dawg", is an American musician best known for his work in the folk, bluegrass, and jazz genres, as well as his close friendship and multiple collaborations with Jerry Garcia. He is also the founder of the record label Acoustic Disc, and is also active as a session musician.
