Dermot Joseph Kennedy (born 13 December 1991) is an Irish singer-songwriter from Rathcoole, County Dublin. He is best known for his 2019 single "Outnumbered".

Early life, career and personal life[]

Kennedy was born in 13 December 1991 and grew up in Rathcoole, a village just outside Dublin. Kennedy started playing guitar at age 10, and songwriting at age 14, but he states that he did not begin to take music "seriously" until he was 17. He is a big football fan and supports Manchester United. His paternal aunt is Irish TV personality and former newscaster Mary Kennedy.

His music career began when he was 17 when he began busking in Dublin, however, it wasn't until a decade later that his music would begin to be noticed. Kennedy used to travel to cities such as Boston, USA to busk, helping him to discover different kinds of sound.
