Don Henley (born July 22, 1947) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer best known as the co-founder of The Eagles. He served as the band's drummer and co-lead vocalist and, as of 2016, is the sole remaining founding member to still be apart of the group.
Career[Edit][]
Eagles[Edit][]
Don Henley moved in 1970 by Linden (Texas) to Los Angeles, to an album with his former band Shiloh . Shortly thereafter, Henley met Glenn Frey. Both were members of the backing band of Linda Ronstadt, and founded in 1971 the first Eagles album of Eagles, containing the hit "Take it easy" was released in 1972. That band went in 1980. Henley was involved in the composition of the best-known songs from the Eagles, Desperado, as "One Of These Nights" and "Hotel California".
Solo Career[Edit][]
After leaving Eagles Henley began a successful solo career. His first solo album was released in 1982 and was called I Can't Stand Still. The sale was moderate, but two years later followed all the album building the Perfect Beast, that stood out through the use of synthesizers and thereby somewhat distanced from the country rock-sound of Eagles. The single Boys of Summer reached the first place in the hit parade of the Billboard. The next album, The End of The Innocence, was released in 1989. For the resulting title track (written with Bruce Hornsby) he receives a grammy award. Then came a time no solo album more, because Henley was working on the reunion (tour) by Eagles. In 1995 released their Greatest Hits album Actual Miles: Henley's Greatest Hits, containing two new songs and a bonus track. Finally, In 2000 came a new solo album, Inside Job. In 1998 , he was with Eagles in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame .
