A label that was acquired by Warner Brothers in the 1970s. Like most major labels, a wide, wide range of artists and no real distinct sound. In the early 1990s, like many majors, they were trying to expand their audience and roster by signng more eclectic artists like Ween, Pixies and They Might Be Giants, although after the 2000s, most of these artists were dropped for not being million-selling artists (despite that being the reason they were signed in the first place).
