Foals are an English indie rock band from the city of Oxford. They formed in 2005 and are fronted by Yannis Philippakis.
Formation[]
The band was originally formed in 2005 by Andrew Mears, former lead singer of the band Youthmovies. All of the band members were formerly in seperate bands. Jack Bevan, Lina Simon and Yannis Philippakis were in a punk-rock band named The Edmund Fitzgerald and Walter Gervers and Jimmy Smith were in a small band named Face Meets Grill.
