Gary Grice (August 22, 1966 in BrooklynNew York) better known by his stage name GZA is a rapper who is co-founder of the Wu-Tang Clan. He has also released several solo albums.

Biography[]

GZA grew up in the ghettos of Brooklyn. There he came into contact with hip hop. He formed together with his cousins RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard , a driemansduo called ' All In Together Now '. The three they performed in local shows throughout New York. They went to MC 's, and with all other battles won those battles almost always. So were the three pointed out by Cold Chillin' Records. Scouted under the name GZA The Genius.

After the 3 founded the Wu-Tang Clan, a rap group consisting of 9 members, they got worldwide recognition. Their first album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) was a great success, that none of the members later could match. After several Wu-Tang solo albums were also released, GZA decided to proceed. His first album, which he after the creation of the Wu-Tang Clan Liquid Swords was released in 1995. Liquid Swords got mostly positive reviews and was a commercial success. His later albums knew the level of his first album not to make, but nevertheless sold well.
