Band Biography[]
James Brown still is the Godfather Of Soul, Y'all. He got his start, after a couple attempts at an athletic career as a baseball pitcher and a boxer, in the 1950s as a member of The Avons, though that quickly changed into James Brown and the Famous Flames. He had a lot of hits in the southern US, and would occasionally have crossover success, although that didn't cement until the 1960s and 1970s, where he really took off. In later years, he's, sadly, less known for his music, and more known for his legal troubles, including drug abuse and high-speed chases. He did still perform, however until his death in December 2006.
