Joscelyn Eve Stoker [1(born on 11 april 1987), better known by her stage name Joss Stonesoul-is a English R & B, and bluessingersongwriter and actress. Stone was famous after the release of her platinum debut album, The Soul Sessions. In 2004, its no. 1 album, Mind Body & Soul issued. The album and its lead single "You Had Me" were nominated for a Grammy Awardin 2005. That year, Stone also a nomination for "best new artist". She was in England in 2004 as one of the most promising acts of 2004. [2her third studio album, Introducing Joss Stone, from 2007, was the second highest debut ever for a British female solo artist in the Billboard 200.

After she had signed for S-Curve, Stone flew to MiamiFlorida in the United States to start working on her debut album, The Soul Sessions. The Soul Sessions was released on 16 september 2003. She has worked with people such as Betty Wright, Benny Latimore, Little Beaver and Willie Thomas ' Bishnupriya ' Hale. Also she performed with Angie Stone and The Roots.

The album consists of covers of soul songs by Wright, Franklin, Laura Lee, Bettye Swann. When it was released at the end of 2003, it came in the top five of the UK albums chart and also in the Top 40 of the u.s.Billboard 200 . The single Fell in love with a boy " was a cover of Fell in Love With a Girl of the The White Stripes from 2001. He came in the Top 20 of the UK Singles Chart. The second single, Super duper love, which is a cover of Sugar Billy's 1974 Super Duper Love, also came in the Top 20.

After achieving critical acclaim with The Soul Sessions, Stone recorded her second album Mind, Body and Soul was released on 28 september 2004. Itself is her real debut album the songs of this album, because they largely itself has written. "I find that I sing much better on this album", she says. It was a bigger success than her previous album, as it debuted in the number one in the UK albums chart, a record previously held by Avril Lavigne. The album just came not in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, it came that is at its highest at number 11. You Had Me the single became her first top 10 hit in the United Kingdom. This was also a hit worldwide. The singles that came afterwards, Right to be wrong and Spoiled both came in the Top 40. Don't cha wanna ride even came in the Top 20. "Spoiled" just came out of the Top 50 of the Hot R & B/Hip-Hop Songs, it came at number 54.

Stone began working on her third studio album, Introducing Joss Stone, in the Compass Point Studios in Nassau on the Bahamas in May 2006. It was released on 12 March 2007 in the United Kingdom by Virgin.Stone has worked with Raphael Saadiq and collaborations with Lauryn HillCommon , and Joi. Stone describes it as "really who I am. So I call it Introducing Joss Stone. These are my texts and this is who I am as an artist ". She also said that her breakup with Beau Dozier was a source of inspiration while she was writing Introducing Joss Stone .

The album debuted at number 12 in the UK albums charts. It also came in at number two on the Billboard 200. There were 118,000 CDs sold in the first week. The album was thereby the highest debut for a British solo singer in the charts of the USA. It passed the record set by Amy Winehouse with Back To Black. Since the release of the album there are over 60,000 CDs sold in the United Kingdom. It got a silver status in the charts.

"Tell me ' bout it debuted at number 28 in the UK Singles Charts. It stood there for three weeks, it came only at number 83 in the u.s. Billboard Hot 100 . The second single, "Tell Me What we're Gonna Do Now" came in the Top 65 in the U.S. Hot R & B/Hip-Hop Songs.

On 3 december 2007 became the third single from the album, Introducing Joss Stone Baby Baby Babyreleased:. The single could be downloaded on iTunes from december 23, and from 30 december from other webshops. On 14 January 2008 the single could be bought in stores. In addition to the single Baby Baby Baby , there is also a version of the digital download single L-O-V-E on.

Joss Stone announced in 2009 in an interview on the American Billboard website a new album. This album is called "Color Me Free" and was released October 20, 2009. The album was delayed several times: in april and July.

Stone collaborated with jazzpianist Herbie Hancock and bluessinger Jonny Lang for a cover of "When Love Comes to Town, by U2 from 1988. This song came on the album "Possibilities of Hancock, from 2005. In the same year Stone also sang on the song "Cry Baby Cry" along with Sean Paul and Santana and worked with Patti LaBelle to the song "Stir It Up", for the Disneyfilm "Chicken Little". "I first heard her before I saw her, and I said, ' where does that black chick come from?
