Ketevan Melua (Katie) (Georgian: "Melua (;)) (Kutaisi (Georgia), 16 september 1984) is a British singer and musician.

Biography[Edit][]
Katie Melua grew up in Kutaisi (Georgia) and later in Batumi, located on the Georgian Coast. At the age of eight she moved with her parents to Belfast, Northern Ireland , and later to London (England). This is due to the job by her father, heart specialist.
Katie Melua In London went to the BRIT School for the Performing Arts & Technology. This school supported by the music industry is known as supplier of famous artists.In 2003, Katie Melua discovered during a showcase by Mike Batt (also singer and lyricist, but also an arranger and producer) who was looking for a singer with predisposition to jazz and blues.
Her first album Call Off The Search was released in 2003 . It contains two songs by herself. Her second album, Piece By Piece , was released on 26 september 2005.
On March 19, 2005 by partnering with her biggest dream came from remaining members of the British rock band Queen the song "Too Much Love Will Kill You' sing on ananti-AIDS concert in South Africa. The concert brought a record amount in the fight against aids/hiv.
In 2005 Katie Melua wins a European Border Breakers Award. The European Border Breakers Awards are awarded to ten emerging artists who made their successful previous year outside their own national borders.
On her second album includes the single Nine Million Bicycles, that they sang on 27 August 2005 during the religious wedding of Prince Prince Pieter-Christiaan withPrincess Anita in the Grote of St. Jeroenskerk in Noordwijk. Thanks to the extra attention that Melua by this gig got her popularity in Netherlands and Belgium, began to rise.
Katie Melua made her appearance In 2007 during the opening gala of the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, but also on the festival itself, where they performed for the first time in 2004 (then in the Hague), she would be a performance. It was right of the opportunity to a tile on the Walk of Fame Europe to dedicate. Also in 2007 she released her third album Pictures out.
In november 2007 , she has reversed the first stone during Domino Day . On 8 december she sang a song on the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. [1]
On april 13, 2008 she performed in Ahoy in Rotterdam, which was completely sold out.
In May 2009, Melua a live cd from which was mixed by Mike Batt. The studio album The House, produced by William Orbit, came on May 21, 2010 in Netherlands, and two days later in Belgium.
Melua's album Secret Symphony, in collaboration with Mike Batt recorded in Air Studios in London, came on March 2, 2012 in Netherlands and in the United Kingdom on 5 March .
On 1 september 2012, she married former world champion James Toseland Superbike.
