Melanie Jayne Chisholm (Whiston, 12 January 1974) is a British singer, best known as Sporty Spice in the girl group Spice Girls. She is performing as a solo artist under the name especially Mel C.

Life Course[Edit][]
As a young girl had Chisholm all interest in dance and theatre. At her high school, she played in school pieces. They also developed a strong singing voice. Her ambition to be pop star might formed when she saw her mother Joan occur in clubs. When she was fifteen she had her first serious relationship, with Ryan Wilson and remained two years together. They eventually went apart because Chisholm went moving and they adopted the Bird Dance School was on Doreen. Chisholm worked hard here and passed her exam. She did several auditions for musicals but was not adopted. Slowly faded her hope ever to play a lead role on the West End and they focused on another ambition, making a plate. They auditioned for a band that eventually would be the Spice Girls . This was known as Sporty Spice Chisholm and toured all over the world and scored several number-one hits.
In 1998 she began a solo career. They scored In Netherlands, separate from the Spice Girls, two number-one hits in the Dutch Top 40: Never Be the Same Again with Lisa ' Left Eye ' Lopes (TLC) in 1999 and I Turn to You in 2000.

- Despite the fact that Chisholm in the Spice Girls known as ' Sporty Spice ', knew her body weight hefty fluctuations, during the Spice Girls-years suffered them toanorexia nervosa and seriously underweight. This, she fell into depression and came by the antidepressants very much to it. Once at its maximum weight she had size 14 (European size 42). They fell again between March and October of 2002 pretty off and came here to a healthy weight (62), in his own words, private sports discipline.
- Chisholm struggled between april and June of the year 2000 with a violent depression. Many sources report in 2001 an alcohol addiction as main cause. This is by Chisholm never officially confirmed or contradicted. Chisholm on 6 July 2001 made known that they tranquilizers and antidepressants had swallowed in order to be able to control her depression. They then also explained that her changing body weight was due to the antidepressants.
- Her album Beautiful Intentions from 2005 is released in house (Red Girl Records).
- In april 2007, Chisholms fourth solo album This Time out. It is her second solo album under private management (Red Girl Records).
- The Spice Girls confirmed in July 2007 that they are for the last time a world tour (in december 2007 and January 2008).
- On 22 February 2009, Chisholm together with her ex-partner a daughter.
