Michael Adam Mills[3] is an Australian musician and songwriter. He is best known as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and main songwriter for the progressive rock band Toehider. He began songwriting at an early age, and performing in bands from the age of 12. He was a member of the band Template, before forming Toehider in 2008 with the release of the eponymous EP and the "12 EPs in 12 Months" project. He has recently appeared as a guest vocalist on the Ayreon album The Theory of Everything, with his performance being cited as a highlight by many reviewers.[4][5][6][7]

He has drawn praise for his powerful, emotive voice and vocal range. He has cited Bruce Dickinson and Ian Gillan as vocal influences.[8][9] His vocal range spans four octaves from low C to soprano C.[10][11]
