Nick Rhinehart is an American bassist who has played with several Seattle-based bands.

Biography

In the early 1990s, Rhinehart joined the band Bam Bam, replacing Scott Ledgerwood on bass guitar.[1] After the departure of lead vocalist Tina Bell, Rhinehart and the remaining members continued as an instrumental trio before recruiting vocalist Brad Mowen, who previously sang in the Portland-based funk rock band Sweaty Nipples, and changed their name to Mommmy.[1] With Mommy, Rhinehart released a pair of songs, "Sunshine" and "Cowboy Under Pressure", that appeared on two different compilation albums in 1993. A year later, he released a full-length album Titus with his new band Churn, which featured his then-wife Christine as a backup vocalist.[2]

In the late 1990s, he recorded the EP KMG-365 with Old Lady Litterbug, featuring vocalist Dan Krueger (Love on Ice) and guitarist Owen Wright (Mistrust, My Sister's Machine). He also toured with Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell in support of his debut solo album Boggy Depot.[3][4] By 2000, he joined a new band The Pin-Ups and played bass on their debut album Backseat Memoirs.

In 2015, Rhinehart formed The National Guard, featuring vocalist Nick Pollock (My Sister's Machine, Tanks of Zen) and drummer Erin Tate (Minus the Bear), and recorded the album Death Blossom, released five years later.
