Nmixx, stylized in all caps, is a South Korean girl group formed in 2022 by SQU4D, an exclusive division of JYP Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
Lily is a former contestant on K-Pop Star 4, and also starred as the female main character in the music video of "If You Do" by Got7 in 2015. Sullyoon is a former Woollim Entertainment trainee, and was supposed to debut as a member of Rocket Punch.
2021: JYPn[]
Prior to the group's official debut, the members are formerly known as JYPn, a pre-debut project by JYP Entertainment. They were managed under an exclusive division called SQU4D. On July 8, 2021, social media accounts for 'JYPn' were opened and revealed a teaser titled "Blind Package". On the next day, JYPn revealed another teaser, phrased "Your Next Favorite Girl Group", citing that JYP Entertainment will debut a new girl group in the near future, which would later revealed to be in February 2022. From July 16 to 25, pre-orders for their limited single "Blind Package" were opened, which include the group's debut album and its related materials. The members were revealed through series of dance and song covers between August 6 to November 19.
2022-present: Nmixx[]
On January 26, 2022, JYP Entertainment released a video titled "Nice to Mixx You", revealing that their new girl group would be called Nmixx.[1] On February 2, 2022, it was announced their debut album would be a single album titled "Ad Mare", and slated for February 22 release. The group's debut showcase was originally scheduled to be held on their debut day, but was postponed to March 1 after Bae tested positive for COVID-19, leading to all of the remaining members going into self-quarantine. On March 1, 2022, Nmixx announces their official fandom name to be titled "NSWER", an acronym for "North, South, West, East and Route", which means Nmixx will find the "route" and "answer" together with their fans.[2]
