"Old Town Road" is a song recorded by American rapper and singer-songwriter Lil Nas X. It was first released independently on December 3, 2018. After gaining popularity, it was re-released by Columbia Records in March 2019.
A remix of the song with American country singer Billy Ray Cyrus released on April 5, 2019. Both the original and remix version were included on Lil Nas X's debut EP, 7.
Other remixes[]
The second official remix with Diplo was released in April 2019.
The third remix version of the song with Young Thug and Mason Ramsey was released on July 11, 2019. This remix retains Billy Ray Cyrus' guest appearance and adds American rapper Young Thug and singer Mason Ramsey. It was released in an effort to keep the original version of the song at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, as the song was one week away from tying for the all-time record held by "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, and "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee; it is also two weeks away from resetting that record.
