Perfect Friendship is the fifth studio album by American electronic artist Kwimilite. It was released on July 18, 2023. It was initially set to release on March 7, before being delayed to March 28, then May 9, and ultimately July 18.
Background[]
Perfect Friendship was announced on September 1, 2022, exactly four months after the release of its predecessor Ballrooms in Belfast. The next day, the album was made available to pre-order on vinyl, CD, and cassette via Kwimilite's Bandcamp page, along with his four previous albums being made available for purchase on CD. However, these pre-orders have since been taken down for unknown reasons. Its first single, "солнце", was released on September 19, 2022. The same day, an iTunes pre-order was launched, revealing that the album will contain 10 tracks, however the pre-order was also taken down for unknown reasons. The second single, "вопрос номер один", was released on November 7, 2022. The tracklist was revealed on December 9, 2022. The third single, "красивая смерть", was released on May 8, 2023. On June 22, Kwimilite announced that the album was finished. Four days later, "мы были одним" was released as its fourth single on June 26. “у меня есть крылья” was released as the fifth single on July 11. The same day, a new iTunes pre-order was launched, revealing the track lengths. Kwimilite has stated that this album features a "more noisy, abrasive sound" than his previous releases.
