Pinkerton is the second studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on September 24, 1996, by DGC Records. Diverging significantly from their debut album, Pinkerton presents a darker, more abrasive sound and includes more personal, introspective lyrics from frontman Rivers Cuomo. Initially met with mixed reactions, the album later gained a cult following and is now often regarded as one of the band's best works.
