Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA) are an American rock band formed in 1996 in Palm Desert, California. Founded by vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme, the band is known for their unique blend of heavy rock, stoner rock, and alternative rock. They are recognized for their distinct sound, characterized by repetitive guitar riffs, rhythmic drumming, and Homme's falsetto vocals.

Band History[]

After the dissolution of his previous band Kyuss, Josh Homme formed Queens of the Stone Age. The band has undergone numerous lineup changes throughout its history, with Homme being the only constant member. QOTSA gained mainstream attention with the release of their albums 'Rated R' and 'Songs for the Deaf', the latter featuring Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Nirvana fame on drums.
