Robert Sylvester Kelly (Chicago, January 8, 1967), better known by his stage name r. Kelly, is an American R & B singer. He started as a member of the group Public Announcement and then started a solo career in 1993. R. Kelly had some big hits with I believe I can fly and If I could turn back the hands of time. In addition, he is active as a songwriter and music producer.

Start of career[Edit][]
R. Kelly grew up in a poor neighborhood. Originally he sang in trains in Exchange for loose change, but in 1991 , he released his career off the ground.
Solo Career[Edit][]
He is best known for his (in Netherlands) hits number 1- I believe I can fly and If I could turn back the hands of time from 1997 and 1999 , respectively,.
Some of his texts are (especially in the United States) as too sexual criticized, but other texts have a high gospelcontent (r. Kelly has stated in interviews to have found God).
In July 2007, Kelly hit with Usher, titled Same Girl. Kelly is currently working on his album Black Panties where he interacts with Kelly Rowland and Ludacris. This album will be released 10 december 2013. [1]

R. Kelly is often negative in the news because of his sexual relationships with underage girls. In 1994 , he married (briefly) with the then 15-year-old singer Aaliyah, who in2001 in a plane crash to life is come.
In recent years, in different u.s. States filed charges against r. Kelly because of child abuse and child pornography. For this reason, many American radio stations refuse to run his music. In his hometown of Chicago ran an investigation against r. Kelly after a videotape surfaced showing that r. Kelly performed sexual acts with a 14-year-old daughter of a business associate. Both r. Kelly as the girl like her family deny that the 14-year-old girl on videotape to see. Kelly was in 2008 found innocent in the case.R. Kelly was In Florida in January 2003 sued for 12 cases of possession of child pornography. However, the charges were unfounded because the evidence was illegally obtained.
In 1995 the Belgian Copyright Association SABAM confirmed that the song You are not alone, that r. Kelly for Michael Jackson wrote, originally in 1993 was composed by the Belgian composers and producers e & Danny Van Passel under the name If we can start all over. This composition was on no. 1 in the United States, the United Kingdom and many other countries. R. Kelly claimed to have composed the song, but failed to provide proof thereof. After 12 years, on september 11, 2007, Danny and Eddy got Victor not equal according to the Belgian court that she and producer r. Kelly the hit You Are Not Alone have composed. On september 3, 2009, the Court of Cassation also confirmed the judgment of 2007 and the pronunciation should be "international" are published.
