Roberto Ferrante (Naples, Italy, March 28, 1965) is a record producer, arranger, composer, musician, and founder of the record label Planet Records Europe. One of the most celebrated producers during the 90s,[1] predominantly in the Dance music genre and from 2003, with his label Planet Records, became the first Latin music leader as Record Producer in Europe.[2] Roberto Ferrante launched and promoted first in Europe and then worldwide all the most important Latin music genres such as Bachata, Salsa, Reggaeton, Dembow, Cubaton, Merengue Urban.

Biography[]

Roberto Ferrante was born in Naples, Italy on 28 March 1965.[3] In his early youth, he started his studies as a drummer and a pianist at the “music conservatory” of Naples. In the late 70s, Roberto cut his time between “left-wing student wave”, his studies at Naples’s artistic lyceum, University of Architecture and his militancy in one of the first underground electronic music groups until 1983 when, after a lot of closed doors, he finally found the one with the will to release his first title (Pineapples “Come On Closer” that will be a great hit in the US and European underground Clubs. Therefore, he abandoned his studies at the Faculty of Architecture and from that moment on, music led his life.
