Headquarters: London, UK
History[]
Rough Trade was started as a record shop in London and grew into one of the largest independent labels of the UK. It had many successes bringing both Britpop to the US and American acts to the UK, although in the 1990s it started to falter until it was bought by Zomba. Currently, fellow UK indie One Little Indian owns the Rough Trade back catalogue, although Rough Trade is still putting out records by new artists.
