Rykodisc is an American record label founded in 1983 in Salem, Massachusetts by Arthur Mann, Rob Simonds, Doug Lexa and Don Rose.
Background[]
As one of the first CD-only indie record labels, the word "Ryko" took from a Japanese word which means "sound from a flash of light". Since 2006, the label is currently owned by Warner Music Group.
