Vivian "Vivi" Weeks, known by STOMACH BOOK, is a transgender American alternative musician. She is known for her combination of emo, noise, and pop music.
Early Life and Career[]
Born in Indiana, STOMACH BOOK originally started her music career as "jibral," creating her first album in 2018. Two years after, her final album under jibral was called CAT SOUP, with the following note:
"this album was created over three or four months between homes, in my car, in an attic, and many other places after i went on medical leave from college and really had nowhere to call home. i think it's a more authentic image of myself than previous works. i hope that this album speaks to you in some way.
I was hesitant to release this at such a turbulent and uncertain time in our history, but i think its important for artists to use their art for the greater good. That's why every dollar earned from CAT SOUP will go to the Black Visions Collective. thank you all so much for giving me a chance. i love you."
Unlike STOMACH BOOK's music today, jibral had more lofi to songs.
Music and Style[]
STOMACH BOOK released a self-titled album on October 8th, 2021, which marks the beginning of her new alias. At the time, the album was released to help her pay off student loans, get a car, and move out of her parents house to start transitioning. Her music usually focuses on topics such as depression, trauma, identity, and toxic relationships.
Vivi's music, as stated before, has a combination of noise, pop, alternative, and emo music.
