Sarah McLachlan (Halifax, Nova Scotia28 January 1968) is a Canadian singer.

McLachlan was born in Halifax and was adoptedas a child. On her 17th, she starred in the New Waveband October Game. In 1988 she signed a record deal with the independent label Nettwerk. She moved to Vancouver, where she recorded her first album in 1988 .

Sarah McLachlan sold since her debut album "Touch" in 1988, more than 25 million albums and won three Grammy Awards. She also sang "When She Loved Me" in the soundtrack of Toy Story 2.
