Music Video[]
The music video was directed by Jay Levey. It parodies "Smells Like Teen Spirit", which depicts the band playing at a high school concert while it descends into riot, and many of the same actors and camera angles are used. Various elements parodied include the cheerleaders, the janitor, Rudy Larosa, is the same actor as in "Smells Like Teen Spirit." and the craze of the mosh pit is exaggerated. Dick Van Patten appears with the crowd in the bleachers. At the Yankovic's voice becomes distorted from lack of breathing and when he is done, he coughs several times before collapsing.
Reviews[]
- Song Notes: A parody of Nirvana's biggest hit (at least the one I think of as their biggest hit, though they had quite a few), "Smells Like Teen Spirit" about how no one can understand Nirvana's lyrics. I think most folks know the story about how he contacted Kurt Cobain who gave his approval, and then asked if it was going to be about food. This was apparently one of Kurt Cobain's favorite songs, which is why "Weird Al" Yankovic still performs it live, since he knew Kurt Cobain loved it so much. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
