Sobernot is a Chilean groove / thrash metal band from Santiago de Chile established at the year-end of 2014. Their sound is influenced by thrash metal bands like Metallica and Megadeth.
History[]
The history of the band already began in 2012 when Pablo La'Ronde was gutar player in the band Bajo Insulto and composed the first songs which will be realized by Sobernot. In2013, La'Ronde founded a side project named Smekhma that already disestablished in 2014 when La'Ronde wanted to find a sound closer to groove metal. However, the band came together again. Joaquin Quezada of the band Bajo Insulto also joined. In the beginning of the year 2015, the auditions for a vocalist began and the beand found its vocalist in César Vigouroux. The band changed their name from Smekhma to Sobernot. Their first recording was an EP named Aurt, a self-release in 2016. The four-track EP garnered rave reviews immediately, both in local and overseas media, and was cataloged by specialized sites as the revelation band of the year, with nominations for different categories of exclusive disc awards for long-playing records. It received rotation in the radios of Chile, Argentina, Brazil, England, Spain, among others.
In 2016, the band presented their first music video for their single Let Them Starve. The video was produced by Sobernot and Alfredo Piel.
On May 22, 2018, the band announced the release of their first studio album Silent Conspiracy, available on CD and for digital download.
