Review[]

This is a Spanish label's (Munster, who've put out a few Young Fresh Fellows records as well as records by The Sonics, The Fastbacks and The Mr. T Experience among others) best-of compilation, and even though it's kind of a weird mix, it's definitely worth picking up, particularly because not quite half of the tracks are readily available only on this compilation. Sure, there's some weird questions about this one ("Why didn't they cut out the samples before the Fabsounds tracks?", "Given that the sample is still in, why is "Rock 'n' Roll Pest Control" in the middle of the album?", "Why, even though the photo of the band is obviously from Electric Bird Digest, is there no songs from that record on here?", "Where's "Back Room Of The Bar" or "Rotation"?", "What does Somos Los Mejores even MEAN?"), but all in all, it's pretty cool and worth it even if you've got all the normal albums anyway. I remember reading one review complaining about the lack of "Amy Grant", and I have to think that's sort of an odd complaint; despite it being an awesome song, it works better if you know the reference and, well, considering that this was a compilation for Spanish audiences, did Amy Grant have that level of worldwide fame, at least at that point? Still, though, this "Amy Grant"-less compilation is definitely worth owning and works as a pretty decent introduction to the band. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
