Sour (stylized in all caps) is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo. It was released on May 21, 2021 by Geffen Records. The album is primarily an alt-pop record ranging from pop-punk songs to bedroom pop ballads. Its subject matter centers on adolescence, failed romance and heartache.
This album was preceded by three singles, Rodrigo's debut single, "Drivers License" which was released on January 8, 2021, "Deja Vu" which was released on April 1, 2021, and "Good 4 U" which was released a week before the album.
This album was originally announced under the working titled "*O*R". On April 13, 2021, Rodrigo took to the social media to post the official album name, cover and track listing.
