State Champs is an American pop punk band formed in Albany, New York in 2010. The band's line-up includes Derek DiScanio (lead vocals) and Tyler Szalkowsk (lead guitar), who have both been a part of the band since its inception, as well as Ryan Scott Graham (bass guitar) and drummer Evan Ambrosio (drums) who joined in the early 2010s following the exit of previous members in those positions. After releasing their first EP in 2010, the band went on their first tour, alongside The Tired and True and Call it Fiction. Throughout 2011, the band performed at many concerts alongside bands such as Handgun and Ghost Thrower[1].

In 2012, a demo of their song 'Critical' caught a large amount of interest and assisted the band in getting a recording contract and signing up with Pure Noise Records in spring of that year. Since then, the band has remained on Pure Noise Records and have released four full lengths albums; The Finer Things (2013), Around the World and Back (2015), Living Proof (2018) and Kings of the New Age (2022). State Champs have also gone on to perform at major events such as Warped Tour[2], Reading and Leeds[3].
