Biography

Started in 1980 as a fanzine, it beccame a real label in 1986, and became the center of the early 1990s Grunge movement. Is relatively reknowned for putting out good records, or at least at the time many people would buy anything that came out on Sub Pop just because it was on Sub Pop. They used this credibility to expand their repertoire to other genres and archival records (like the Radio Birdman disc they released, from an obscure Australian punk band).
