suburban daredevil is the second official mixtape by wifiskeleton, released on October 23, 2024, following about a month of teasers and online buildup. The project spans multiple genres, including sigilkore, hyperpop, bedroom pop, slacker rock, and alternative rock, showcasing wifiskeleton’s genre-defying, lo-fi sound and emotionally candid lyrical style.

Background[]

The title, suburban daredevil, is a direct reference to the 2010 Disney XD animated series Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil,[1] a show known for its rebellious spirit and suburban skate-punk energy—an influence echoed in the mixtape's tone and aesthetic.

Initially, the mixtape was known to contain four core tracks:

  • A song titled “party”, which was teased during an Instagram Live session.
  • A collaboration with mandy.
  • A collaboration with six days after christmas.
  • A collaboration with i wanna be a jack-o-lantern.

While the final tracklist expanded during production, these early teases helped fuel anticipation for the project’s release.

suburban daredevil solidifies wifiskeleton’s identity in the underground digital music scene, marked by their DIY approach and a strong online presence. The project blends distorted, ethereal beats with melancholy vocals and internet-native surrealism, cementing it as a notable entry in the evolving hyperpop and sigilkore spaces.
