Parameters

Name

The name of the musician/group. Use stage name if applicable.

Img

Image of the artist/group, note that the entry (file name) should not include the term "File:". Do not use "Image" as the parameter.

Img_size

The image size should only be specified if the image is smaller than 220 pixels width. Enter the width in pixels, without "px".

Img_capt

Short caption for the image.

Birth_name

This field is only applicable to individuals. This is self-explanatory. Do not use this field if the artist goes by his own real name.

Native_name

The artist's name in their own language. Use this field only if the musician/group is originated from countries that have their own speaking languages. After each entry, please note it as to which language belongs to. Example: 방탄소년단 (Korean) as in BTS. Seaparate multiple entries using line break (<br />).

Alias

This field is only applicable to individuals. Notable nicknames or former stage names if applicable, or any other official names that differ from the artist's birth name. This field is not for fan-made nicknames.

Origin

The town/city, from which the musician/group originated, please use this format:

city, state, country [[File:Flag of (country).svg|20px]]

Born

This field is only applicable to individuals. The date that the musician has born, please use "mm dd, yyyy" (e.g.: September 2, 1990). If the artist is still active, please use this format after the date indicating the artist's age:

(age {{Age|birth_year=?|birth_month=?|birth_day=?}})

Died

This field is only applicable to individuals. The artist's date of death, use the same format as "Born" but must note the age after the date.

Occupation

This field is only applicable to individuals. Roles the artist has fulfilled. (e.g.: singer, songwriter, producer etc.). Please encourage realistic occupations, do not put nonsense terms in it, e.g. music producer, music composer, music creator, musical artist etc. The term "Musician" is still allowed but if there is already at least one specific occupation, please do not use it. All occupations must be separated using commas.

Instrument

This field is only applicable to individuals. If any, instruments the artist has played.

Genre

The genre or genres of music performed by the act. Preferably use two to four genres. Genres should be separated by using commas. Most of the genres are not proper nouns and should not be capitalized. However, the first word in a list of multiple genres should be capitalized.

Years_active

Period(s) during which the artist/group was or has been active. Only calendar years should be listed. Use commas to separate non-consecutive periods, and denote ranges with a "-". If the act is still active, please use "2005-present" or "1981-present".

Label

Label(s) that the act had associated with. If the act has not yet to sign any labels, please use "Independent". If you wish to add link for the record label, plz use article name on the left, then the pipe (|), and what you wanted to display on the right. Remember to remove the terms "Records", "Entertainment", "Recordings" etc. in which most of the label names ended with. For example:

  • Republic ([[Republic Records|Republic]])
  • Interscope ([[Interscope Records|Interscope]])

Associated_acts

Professional relationships with other notable musicians or bands that are significant to this artist's career. It can include:

  • For individuals: groups or bands in which the act have been a member
  • Acts with which this act has collaborated on multiple occasions, or on an album, or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together
  • Groups which have spun off from this group
  • A group from which this group has spun off

Separate multiple entries by using commas.

Whereas, the following uses of this parameter should be avoided:

  • One-time collaboration for one single song
  • Groups or bands with only one member in its common
  • For groups: the solo careers of its members
  • Associated of producers or managers etc.
  • Groups that have played or toured together as separate acts
  • Groups that are similar

Influences

Artists or groups that the act have been influenced from. Separate multiple entries by using commas.

Current_members

This field is only applicable to active groups. Current members of the group, listed in order of joining with no other notation than names. For multiple members joining concurrently (such as the formation of the band), list them according to alphabetical order, or official order if applicable. Separate multiple entries by using linebreak ("<br />").

Past_members

This field is only applicable to groups. Past or former members of the group, listed in order of joining with no other notation than names. If a group is inactive, list all members here, and leaving none in the "Current_members" field. Do not put inactive members here, as their status are currently unknown. Separate multiple entries by using linebreak ("<br />").

URL

The official website for the act. Please put only one link. For streaming services and social networks, see "Streaming_services" and "Social_networks" fields respectively.
