The Eagles is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. The current band lineup consists of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit. Former band members include Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, and Don Felder, and Glenn Frey, who passed away in 2016.

The Eagles have sold over 150 million records—including 42 million copies of Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) and 32 million copies of Hotel California. With seven number-one singles, six Grammys, five American Music Awards, and six number one albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s.
