The Smithereens are an American three-member rock band from Carteret, New Jersey. Originally formed in 1980 as four, its original line-up consisted of members Pat DiNizio, Jim Babjak, Mike Mesaros and Dennis Diken.
This continued until 2006 when Mesaros left the and and Severo Jornacion replaced him until Mesaros' return in 2016. After DiNizio died in 2017, the band continued as a trio.
