The War on Drugs is an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2005, the band currently consisted of six members: Adam Granduciel, David Hartley, Robbie Bennett, Charlie Hall, Jon Natchez and Anthony LaMarca.

Initially formed as three piece: Granduciel, Kurt Vile and Hartley, Charlie Hall and Kyle Lloyd were added to the band before releasing their debut album, Wagonwheel Blues in 2008. Hall and Lloyd left the band shortly, then followed by Vile to focus on his solo career.
