"The Girl Is Mine" is a song recorded by British house music production duo 99 Souls. It was originally released on December 16, 2014, on SoundCloud. This song was a mash-up of Destiny's Child's 2004 song, "Girl", and Brandy Norwood and Monica's 1998 song, "The Boy Is Mine". It has received around 3 million streams. However, it was taken down, possibly for copyright reasons. Later on though, song was re-released on November 6, 2015 with Beyoncé's consent and re-recorded vocals from Brandy. The song later on peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart.

The music video for the song, directed by Sandl, was released on 99 Souls' YouTube channel on November 20, 2015. This music video was nominated for the best electronic video at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The plot of the music video revolves around everyone doing everything backwards, while the black and bald man couldn't. Others thought he was odd and picks on him for doing everything forwards, so he signs up for rehabilitation to learn how to do everything backwards like everyone else, then at one point, he meets a girl that does everything forwards. After a while of bonding, they realize there is nothing wrong with the way they are so they stop trying to move backwards and go back to moving forwards because being different isn't wrong.
