Tidal Graves is the third extended play by American rapper Khary, in collaboration with producer Lege Kale. It was released on July 28, 2017 through As We Arrive LLC.
Background[]
The EP first begun its development in February 2017 with the first single "Stronger" released on the 7th. Khary stated that the song was originally meant to be standalone, but like the presentation of the themes explored, that he recruited Kale to serve as executive producer of the project.
Noting that it was a big departure from his other projects, such as Swim Team and Intern Aquarium. Khary stated that it fits a narrative that has always been explored in his music and liked the change of sound. A month later, on March 10, the second single "Too Fast" was released. This showcased for the first time Khary's singing skills, with his vocals in the background throughout the song. A music video for "Too Fast" was released on July 21, along with the release date.
The following months, strings of listening parties were held in Los Angeles and New York, all of which were met with success. On July 26, the project was fully revealed with Genius, including lyrics and more background information for the track list. Two days later, on July 28, the EP was released.
