Tom Paxton (October 31, 1937) is an American folk singer-songwriter whose career has spanned more than fifty years. He has written many songs that have become folk standards, such as "The Last Thing on My Mind", "I Can't Help But Wonder Where I'm Bound", and "Bottle of Wine". He received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.

As of 2017, Paxton continues to occasionally tour and record new music despite being semi-retired. His most recent album, called Boat in the Water (his 63rd album overall), was released in 2017, and he toured the United Kingdom the same year.

Paxton is also an outspoken musical educator and folk music advocate.
