"We Are the World" is a song recorded by American charity supergroup USA for Africa. It was released as a single on March 7, 1985 by Columbia Records. The song was served as a superstar charity recording for famine relief efforts in Ethiopia.
In January 2010, another all-star cast of singers remake the song, titled "We Are the World 25 for Haiti". The song was released as a single on February 25, 2010 as a response to a magnitude 7.0 M earthquake in Haiti. In March 2020, Lionel Richie suggested a third version of the song should be made as a message of global solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic and raise funds for aid efforts; however this version was never held.
