Yellow Magic Orchestra, often shortened as YMO, is a Japanese electronic band formed in 1978 by Haruomi Hosono, Yukihiro Takahashi and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The band enjoyed success in both domestically and internationally, until they paused activities in 1984. However, they have briefly reunited several times in the next decades.
